SCRIP is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase SCRIP, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for either Sts. Joan of Arc and Patrick School or the St. Patrick Youth Group. SCRIP is available for local businesses and restaurants and national chains.
Scrip is sold after all weekend Masses, at the parish office during normal business hours, and at the Sts. Joan of Arc and Patrick School campus on Dixon Road. Cash and checks are accepted. Most SCRIP is available, but if it is not, it can be ordered and delivered within one week.
Because SCRIP is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Our organization buys SCRIP from Great Lakes SCRIP Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount – from two to fifteen percent or more – is our organization’s revenue.
St. Patrick Youth Ministry relies on the sale of SCRIP to help support youth activities. Our Youth Group students are aware of the need to provide the manpower to sell SCRIP. If you are a parent of a middle or high school youth at St. Patrick, we need your help selling SCRIP after weekend Masses. It only takes about 45 minutes and your family volunteer earns money towards youth events at the parish. Please contact the parish office at 765.452.6021 or talk to one of our catechists at Sunday evening Youth Group to sign up to provide this service.
Thank you for your stewardship through time and talent.
